MacArthur Park Is Going To Be Full Of Balls

Here’s a pretty cool story that shows just how much people are coming around to the transformative power of balls. Arts organization Portraits of Hope, who have added splashes of color to taxicabs in New York City, are going west this summer with an installation at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles. The park’s signature lake will be filled with 7,000 inflatable balls painted by a variety of community groups, transforming it into a constantly-moving field of color. The balls are scheduled to stay in the lake for about a month, and are being painted right now.
