Tourists Flock To See Strange Old Man’s Giant Ball

“I don’t know if you know Tom Green up there. He was here once,” says Mike Carmichael, referring, of course, to a photograph of the “Bum Bum Song” artist standing next to the gigantic ball of paint Carmichael keeps in his shed. He’d grant you that it’s an odd hobby, brushing all those tens of thousands of layers of paint onto that big ball, the brainchild of a happy accident during a childhood baseball game years and years ago. But the painter by trade isn’t willing to diminish it any further. “No matter what you want to do, it has some type of a meaning,” he says. For instance, this roadside attraction might just mean that ol’ Mike has too much time on his hands.
