YouTuber Jimmy Snow recently had a bit of a scare when he noticed a mysterious lump in his ballsack. Because he’s a smart person, he immediately headed into the doctor to get it looked at. One of the steps that involved was getting a testicular ultrasound, and that’s not something that happens very often. So when one of his viewers requested more information, Snow decided to make a video to describe the process.

Getting your nuts looked at can be a harrowing experience. We’re raised from a young age to keep our private parts private. But that kind of internalized shame can be hazardous to our health, as can anxiety and fear around undergoing a new medical procedure. Snow goes into the anxiety he felt about the ultrasound, too, which can make things even more difficult. Watch the video to learn more.

Big props to Jimmy Snow for going public with this story - we’re all about awareness here, but we have to recognize that it’s a big step to ask a doctor to look inside your nutsack. We’re happy that his initial fear of testicular cancer was unfounded and he’s going to be OK, but taking the time to share his experiences and urge others to get their nuts checked is a big help to the cause.
