Don’t Use A Hairdryer On Your Balls In Iceland

Iceland Testicle Drying

It’s important to keep your balls dry. Getting rid of excess moisture down there prevents bacteria from growing, which can produce itching, bad smells and other negative effects. Typically, we use a towel to pat our boys gently down after a shower or a swim, but apparently pools in Iceland are having some problems with dudes looking to blow-dry their balls.

Apparently visitors to the Sundhollin pool in Iceland’s capital Reykjavik have been using the thoughtfully-provided hair dryers in the men’s locker room to de-moisturize their private parts. Although we applaud the ingenuity, we have to say that it’s not the most dignified thing to do in a room with a bunch of other naked guys.

The Daily Mail has more on the curious controversy. A swimmer named Haraldur Jónasson got so upset by the hygiene fail that he penned an article in a local newspaper about the situation, which got a lot of response from the community.

Now under the microscope, the managers of the Sundhollin pool put up placards in the locker room outlining some simple rules. Above the dryers, a sign now reads “Don’t dry your scrotum or your behind with the communal hairdryer in the swimming pool or the gym.”

We don’t know all that much about Icelandic culture, but it seems like they have a fair amount of respect for politeness and tradition there. It seems funny that a swimming pool has to spell out exactly how dudes should be drying off their ballsacks.

What do you think? Is it ever OK to use a communal hair dryer on your danglers, or does the pool have the right idea?
